Our collection of Italian pewter beakers, available in five sizes, are cast from original antiques. This particular size is perfect for a bouquet of flowers or to hold kitchen utensils, and comes with an intriguing backstory. Historically, beakers like these were used by shopkeepers to measure items like flour or oil. Periodically, an inspector would visit to ensure the shopkeeper wasn’t using false-bottomed beakers to cheat customers. If the beaker passed inspection, it was stamped to confirm it was a true measure.
